Summary Manual: "ARTISANS WEBSITE PORTFOLIO"

This one page Manual has been created to guide you in using your "ARTISANS WEBSITE PORTFOLIO". Scroll down to find your question or read it straight through.

PORTFOLIO ORGANIZATION. Our "ARTISANS WEBSITE PORTFOLIO" is structured to mimic your real life photo album Project Portfolios:

  1. PROJECTS go into specialized PORTFOLIOS with other similar Projects.
  2. IMAGES go into their respective PROJECT pages.

LOGGING IN: To make any changes to your "ARTISANS WEBSITE PORTFOLIO", you will first need to go to the Login page for your AWP and Login using a Username and a Password which we gave you. If you need help logging in, email us or call us at 413-586-4748.

PROJECT INFO EDITING: Project information appears throughout the website (on the Project pages, the Portfolio pages and the Project Index page), but it can only be edited in one place, the PROJECT PAGE. To edit any PROJECT information, click on the link to that particular Project. You can do this at the Project page itself OR go through the Project List link on the black floating Menu on the right side of the screen.

CONTACT INFO EDITING: Similarly, Contact information appears on every page in the website, but it can only be edited in one place, the CONTACT PAGE. You can also upload the upper left masthead image from the Edit link for the Contact Page.

TO EDIT ANY PAGE in the website, whether Contact page, Project page, Portfolio page, Index page or this Home page:

  • LOGIN with your username and password.
  • At the top of the page you wish to EDIT, click on the link "Edit", in blue text. You will then see numerous information FIELDS which you can edit or add text to. You will then be able to edit page text for that page, plus upload images if the page supports them.
  • Make your changes and DON’T FORGET to hit the "Submit" button when you are done to SAVE YOUR CHANGES.

"CUT AND PASTE" INTO THE LONG DESCRIPTION TEXT EDITOR: You can "cut and paste" text into any field, but we advise that you do NOT paste directly from Microsoft Word into the Long Description text field. We suggest either of the following two procedures when cutting and pasting from Microsoft Word into the Long Description text field:

  1. Click the "Paste from Word" icon (below the window) and paste your text into the pop-up window OR,
  2. Drop your text into Notepad first, THEN into the Long Description editor.

LONG DESCRIPTION TEXT EDITOR TEXT FORMATS: The text editor supports the following formats. Highlight the word you wish to format and then click the appropriate icon at the bottom of the Editor:

  • bulleting
  • bolding
  • italicizing
  • underlining and
  • linking

LONG DESCRIPTION EDITOR IMAGE UPLOADS: Click on the image icon at the bottom of the Long Description field, and a pop-up will allow you to browse your desktop for images.

TO CREATE NEW PORTFOLIOS:

  • Click on "Portfolio List" in the menu at right.
  • Then click on the top link "Add Portfolio".
  • Fill out the Portfolio Form and hit the "Submit" button to save.

  • IMPORTANT, You must click the CHECKBOX just above the “Submit” button on the Image Form in order to select a "thumbnail" (small) Image to display on the Portfolio page.
  • IMPORTANT, THE CAPTION of that same image will furnish the short piece of Project text that is displayed on the Portfolio page. Therefore, make sure that the caption represents the PROJECT as well as the IMAGE.

TO EDIT AN EXISTING IMAGE, scroll down the Project Edit page and click on the existing Image.

TO DELETE A PROJECT, click on "Project List" in the Menu at right and click on the Project that you wish to delete, using the "Delete" link at the top of the page.

Once the Portfolio Projects have been deleted (or moved), click on "Portfolio List" in the Menu at right, select the Portfolio that you wish to delete and click on the "Delete" link at the top of the page.

TO EDIT THE HOME PAGE, click on the link "Edit", in blue text. You will then be able to edit any HOME PAGE text, plus upload a single large image. You will be able to remove the "dummy" text and cut-and-paste or type in your own.

TO REPLACE THE HOME PAGE IMAGE:

  • Click the "Edit" link on the Home page.
  • Click the "Delete" checkbox just below the Home page image and hit the "Submit" button.

The PROJECT INFORMATION there is only editable through the individual Project pages.
