Google+ Influences Google Search - - from the Horses Mouth.


I HATE SOCIAL MEDIA. What's not to hate? I just logged into my Facebook and LinkedIn accounts for the first time in over a year. Painful and pointless. For those of you who have tried to reach out to me that way, I apologize for not responding. Please forgive me and I will try to do better in the future.

BUT GOOGLE+ IS DIFFERENT. If you participate on Google+, Google will help you in the search results. It's a quid pro quo (LATIN: scratch my back, I'll scratch yours) because they want you to use Google+. Don't take it from me, get it from the horses mouth. Hear what Amit Singhal of Google has to say on the topic. We've all suspected it all along; now he confirms it.

You don't need to figure it all out (it's the Google algorithm, after all), just do it, because it works and because you want Google on your side. (Sorry, Facebook, Google the search engine doesn't index Facebook results.)

  1. Register with Google+.
  2. Put me in your "Circle".
  3. Post about one of your most amazing, unique or cool projects in Google+.

IT'S EASY! The more that you post to Google+ (within reason), the better Google will like it. See you on Google+!
