The Big Google+ News is that they recently allowed you to create a Google+ page for your brand or company. Before that, every page had to be about a person, about you.
So the Big Google+ Question is, now that you CAN create a page for your company, do you HAVE to? Or SHOULD you?
I tried to answer that question for myself, by creating a Google+ page for our Restoration Trades Directory, to see how it worked. It didn’t, as far as I can see. What is the point? I already have a website, why do I need to create and maintain a company Google+ page as well? Probably it will just be another never-visited, never-updated social media page, gathering dust out in cyberspace. Sort of like my Facebook pages.
So what SHOULD you do about Google+? Do create a Google+ business profile for yourself (like I have) and post to it your new projects, your new services, your new facilities, your new associates, etc., etc., (like I have).
And why should you care about Google+? Because unlike all other “social media” (Facebook, Linkedin, etc.), Google+ enables you to directly influence Google the search engine in support of your business. Google the search engine is where most of your qualified web traffic comes from. Google+ is therefore worth your time. All other social media just wastes your time.
Feel free to let me know if you think that I am all wrong about Google+ company pages or Google+ in general. Or anything else, for that matter. Post to my Google+ page.
